I don't remember a time when my desk, a wooden drafting table from the 50's, WASN'T loaded with art supplies of some sort. My mother even turned our family room into a studio for me to encourage my passion for making and creating. I have worked in a variety of jobs and industries, but I always had time to be creative at my desk.
As a child, I loved making greeting cards for family and friends. Cardmaking was truly my first art love. My father was Audio Visual Director for the school system where we lived. He always had information on where to get the best supplies. I dried out his best markers often! That evolved into scrapbooking and various paper arts and crafts.
I gather inspiration from other mixed media artists and finding beauty in all the hidden, unexpected places. You will find me photographing everything from flowers and landscapes to intricate iron work and sculpted architectural adornments on buildings.
I hand-create everything. I use tools such as stamps, stencils, a Cricut cutting machine, and bindery equipment. Sometimes purchased stickers, patterned papers, and miscellaneous ephemera are also used.
Putting together beautiful mixed media pieces often involves incorporating various resources. Central stamped artwork and elements will be credited, if need be, with markings and mentions accompanying each piece.
Due to professional and personal commitments, I am unable to take custom greeting card orders or artwork requests.
